"Donn,

I enjoyed this course Donn...felt that it was really practical and that I got my money's worth. Also appreciated the systematic nature of the instruction, and the connection to later courses. Wish that I had found you guys a year or so earlier. Thanks for the time you put in on weekly e-mail and the chats. Despite the distance I felt that you were accessible and just as much "there" as a lot of the face-to-face classes that I have taken recently. Hopefully I'll see you again in another class."

"Dear Dr. Ritchie:

Thank you for encouraging me to complete the contract for EdTec 541...Caleb and Ray have been excellent instructors, and the class was all that I wanted it to be. I have learned to define, design, and critique quality web sites. The course was structured in such a way that I never did feel isolated. There was always a feeling of "community" with the instructors and the other students. I always felt that I was in touch, and that I could get help when I needed it. The Web casts added so much to the program. I was impressed with the ability of the instructors to pace the web casts. The slow pace, patience, and sincerity are some of the qualities that I feel made this medium so successful and enjoyable. I am impressed with the humor and the sharing of poetry, etc., throughout the course. This humanized the program. I would like to take the EdTec 540. As I understand it, this course must be completed before I can continue with other courses that are required for the certification. I plan to sign up for EdTec 540 in the Fall. I do hope it will be offered on-line."

Thank you again.

"Donn,

...This is my third distance course with SDSU and I have to honestly say that the speed in the instructors' replies is at the top of my list of reasons why I enjoy these courses. It definitely helps to avoid the feelings of isolation and disconnectedness we experience as distance learners. I have friends here in Korea who are studying through other programs, wishing their experiences were as positive as mine. Anyway, back to the point of this email: I'm located in Taejon, South Korea, where I'm a visiting English professor at Chungnam National University. If you'd like some real, authentic kimchi, or anything else inherently Korean, just let me know."

Sincerely,

Eric

Hi Jim,

"I just wanted to write and thank you again for my very good experience with virtual ed at SDSU, which was in large part due to how gracefully you handled communications with us and how very well-informed you kept us. I never felt that "I'm just out here dangling in the wind by myself" feeling virtual students fear, and I'd bet none of my classmates did either."

Thanks, Constance Lepro
