Distance Education Certificate
The Distance Education certificate are for those who are currently working in distance, open or extended education, training, Human Resource Development or a related field and who wish to develop or enhance their professional skills in Distance Education.
This certificate program will provide you to:

Explain defining concepts of the field of distance education,
- Identify contemporary social and economic trends and issues affecting the growth and development of distance education,
- Present an overview of the history of distance education,
- Select appropriate instructional strategies for distance teaching and learning,
- Select appropriate Internet-based, videoconferencing and learning management technologies for distance education,
- Use online evaluation and data collection tools,
- Apply appropriate project management skills to the administration, development and promotion of distance education systems,
- Apply principles of human learning and cognition to design and use of distance education systems,
- Apply psychological principles of technology-based learning in developing distance education systems,
- Apply research-based guidelines for implementation of distance teaching and learning systems,
- Apply principles of exploratory learning through simulations and games to developing online learning systems,
- Apply current and emerging standards (e.g. SCORM) to the development of distance education systems.
To receive a certificate in Distance Education, candidates must complete the following 12 units of coursework:
